“Are you okay?”

Rain turned her head to face the large wolf in front of her.  His golden eyes filled with concern for her.  His huge size sheltered her from the howling wind that was kicking up the snow around them.   Rain rested her eyes on her brother’s dark grey shoulder.

“Yes Tarn.  Thank you,” she answered.

She struggled to her paws and looked around.  The storm had gotten worse and despite her thick white coat speckled with grey, she was chilled to the bone.

“Well we won’t be able to go on in this weather.  We must find somewhere to take cover,” Tarn said.

Rain glanced at him knowing he was right, even though she wanted to continue the journey.

She always respected her brother.  He was compassionate and quick thinking.  He knew exactly what to do in situations like these.  She wished she was as witty as him.  Rain didn’t want to change who she was.  She was excellent in hunting and fighting, but she wanted a little more.  To be the best is what she strives for; lives for.

Tarn turned and pushed against the wind and snow while Rain followed in his footsteps.
